Anita Rani has revealed that the coronavirus lockdown helped her to heal after she suffered a miscarriage.

The Countryfile star, 42, opened up about her loss earlier this year, sharing in an article in Red magazine that she had gone through a miscarriage in 2018 and that it had taught her that it was “okay to be vulnerable”.

She has now revealed that the lockdown period actually helped with her recovery.

“Lockdown has given me space to be more thoughtful,” The Sun quoted Rani as saying.

“I will look back at this year as hopefully a moment of rebirth.”

The TV star said while it was difficult to talk about, she thought it was important to use her voice and that many people have reached out to her since she first opened up about experiencing a miscarriage.

“The response was amazing and I think that is the biggest thing about sharing your experiences,” said Rani, who is married to technology executive Bhupinder Rehal.

"I just used my voice and it helped me as well as others and it was worth it.”

Rani has previously said talking about her miscarriage was “cathartic”.

She told Hello! magazine earlier this year: “It felt cathartic to talk about it… I don’t talk about things that are personal. I’m not someone who constantly shouts about my darkest secrets, so it felt like a real moment when I was opening myself up, and I’m glad I did.”
