Anna Richardson and Sue Perkins have claimed they were ‘scammed for thousands of pounds’ after booking a holiday online.

Richardson told of the couple’s despair after they lost thousands of pounds, saying it left them feeling “stupid”.

She admitted to having doubts after not recognising the website, despite speaking to someone over the phone about the holiday.

Recalling the incident on Loose Women she said: “A couple of years ago I was booking a family holiday. I went on a website and then called the person.

“I asked for the chaps details because I didn’t recognise the website. He faxed me over loads of stuff.

“I paid thousands of pounds for the accommodation and poof he just disappeared. I got nothing back. Goodbye money. You feel so stupid.”

Perkins, who is renowned for co-hosting The Great British Bake Off with Mel Geidroyc, has been dating Richardson for around four years.

The famous pair reportedly met at a Halloween party in 2013 after Richardson called time on her relationship with TV director Charles Martin.

Speaking to The Telegraph in 2015 she said: “For me, it’s just a case of I am who I am. I’m not interested in being labelled gay or straight, my sexuality is fluid. I’m just me.

“I just happen to have fallen in love with a woman – simple as that.”
