Ant and Dec share glimpse into late night 'I'm A Celebrity' work schedule

I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have seen their work schedules turned upside down for the new series.

The Geordie due are used to going live on air at 7am in the morning when shooting the ITV jungle reality show in Australia. But due to the coronavirus pandemic I’m A Celeb is being shot at Gwrych Castle in north Wales – with the lads filming trials late into the night to allow footage to be edited in time to air at 9pm.

Ant and Dec shared a video of themselves on their Instagram Stories enjoying some takeaway Bang Bang cauliflower wings during a break – which revealed their work schedule mapped on a whiteboard behind them.

The TV presenters arrive on set at 5.15pm to do voiceover work, and have two hours of meetings and planning before heading to make-up and wardrobe at 7pm.

McPartlin, 44, and Donnelly, 45, head outdoors to face the cold and wet conditions at the Welsh castle at 8pm to record opening links, before an-in studio rehearsal at 8.30pm.

The show airs live on ITV at 9pm on weekday and Sunday evenings – with Ant and Dec informing the celebrities who has been chosen to take part in the task just before they go off air at 10pm.

The lads getting a 30-minute break at 10.15pm and the trial is set up ready for filming at 11.15pm.

If all goes to schedule Ant and Dec wrap at 12.45pm and can head back to their hotel in a taxi - leaving the celebs to sleep the night in hammocks at the spooky castle.

When filming the show in Australia, the 10-hour time difference means the TV presenters begin filming at 2.30am, before wrapping at 12.45pm, according to their book Once Upon A Tyne.

This year contestants taking part in the show include Olympic athlete Sir Mo Farah, 37, ex-Corrie star Beverley Callard, former EastEnders actor Shane Richie, 56, and Radio 1 DJ Jordan North, 30.

Also in the camp this year are TV presenter Vernon Kay, vlogger Giovanna Fletcher, journalist and broadcaster Victoria Derbyshire, Strictly dancer AJ Pritchard, Paralympic javelin thrower Hollie Arnold and EastEnders actor Jessica Plummer.
