Ant and Dec nab Scarlett Moffatt for 'dream' Saturday Night Takeaway role

‘Gogglebox’ star Scarlett Moffatt won fans during her impressive stint on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ and they’ll be delighted to hear she’ll be back on primetime television very soon.

The 26-year-old jungle queen has just signed a “dream deal” to co-host ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ alongside Ant and Dec.

Three cheers for Scarlett!

The bubbly brunette confirmed the news and said she’s thrilled for her next career move working alongside the Geordie-duo when the new series of the ITV show returns to screens later this year.

An excited Scarlett told The Sun newspaper: “I’ve watched ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ with my family for as long as I can remember I’m such a huge fan, so to be a part of one of the biggest entertainment shows out there, with two of my all time TV heroes Ant and Dec, is an absolute dream.

“I am so excited. I didn’t think 2016 could be topped but I really can’t wait for my Saturday nights now.”

The TV favourite will replace former Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts, 35, who had been co-hosting with Ant and Dec since 2013.

However, show bosses see Geordie star Scarlett as a popular choice with viewers and think she’ll muck in on the pranks and stunts performed for the audience and those at home with Ant and Dec.

A source told the publication: “She’ll be a big hit with viewers and will be great fun for them [Ant and Dec] to work with too.

“Her humour is exactly what’s needed and having another Geordie on the
show is just a bonus.”

The self confessed couch potato has also been nabbed to present a new series of Channel 4’s dating show ‘Streetmate’ – which made Davina McCall and Alan Carr famous – but details of the revival of the show are
being kept under wraps.

Needless to say, we’re delighted for Scarlett and wish her the very best in her new presenting roles!
