Ant Anstead Calls Girlfriend Renee Zellweger 'the Missus' as He Praises Her 'Genius' Work in New “Bridget Jones”
The British TV host also joked that he needs to have a "quiet chat down a dark alleyway" with Zellweger’s on-screen love interest Leo Woodall
Ant Anstead is showing off his "missus" — and her acting chops!
On Tuesday, Nov. 12, the British TV host, 45, shared the trailer for the long-awaited fourth Bridget Jones film on Instagram with some high praise for his girlfriend of over three years, Renee Zellweger, 55.
“The missus was busy being brilliant this summer….. she’s a bloomin Bridget genius!” Anstead wrote alongside the Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy trailer.
He also had some choice words for Zellweger's on-screen love interest. “Oh And Leo…,” the Born Mechanic star added of actor Leo Woodall, 28, “we need to quiet chat down a dark alleyway… x.”

The latest Bridget Jones installment stars Zellweger stepping back into the titular character’s beloved shoes as she copes with the death of Mark Darcy (Colin Firth).
Now a widow and mother to two young children, Bridget begins to get back out there, growing close with both a younger man portrayed by Woodall and her son's science teacher (Chiwetel Ejiofor) — and reunites with series mainstay Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant).
"Bridget goes back to work and even tries out the dating apps, where she’s soon pursued by a dreamy and enthusiastic younger man," an official synopsis reads. "Now juggling work, home and romance, Bridget grapples with the judgment of the perfect mums at school, worries about Billy as he struggles with the absence of his father, and engages in a series of awkward interactions with her son’s rational-to-a-fault science teacher."
As production on the film kicked off in London in May, Anstead joined Zellweger in the United Kingdom — a temporary relocation, he later assured fans. While in the U.K., he also began working on a new renovation project for his show Ant Anstead: Born Mechanic.

Anstead and Zellweger — who share a home together in Orange County, Calif. — began dating after meeting on the set of Anstead’s Discovery+ show Celebrity IOU: Joyride in June 2021.
The couple keep their love life largely under wraps. The automotive expert did, however, recently discuss what it’s like to have a romance with someone as famous as Zellweger — and how “normal” she really is off-camera.
When asked what it is like to be in a relationship that is "so minutely gazed upon by total strangers” on the talk show Jeremy Vine on 5, Anstead revealed it’s not something he thinks about often.
“I mean, ultimately, it is microscopically examined, I'm sure, but I don't really think about that," he said. "She's so incredibly normal and I often forget that she's famous."
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy begins streaming exclusively on Peacock Feb. 13, 2025.
