Ant and Dec have managed to be the ones responsible for letting the Crown Jewels go missing in their new, ongoing Saturday Night Takeaway skit so now they're the ones who have to find them again.

The only problem is, they don't seem to be anywhere near unmasking the criminal.

Helped along this week by Michael Sheen, OBE, and the Munitions Ordinance Operations Backup Squad – or M.O.O.B.S – the latest instalment sees the lads find themselves in an actual room with the actual jewels and the actual villain, Maskface.

So that will end well then.

The duo end up face to face - or face to mask if you're being picky - with the thief after they misinterpreted Sheen's instructions.

Typical.

But even though this week's skit ended with Ant getting his hands on the jewels, things soon hit a bump when Maskface's minions then took Dec hostage, forcing Ant to choose between saving the jewels or his best mate.

After a brief hesitation - it's a pretty tough choice! - the pair ultimately found themselves both strapped up and close to being finished off for good.

So, who is the pesky thief who has pinched the crown jewels? And now also Ant and Dec?

Well, we can at least scratch one name off the list of suspects as David Walliams officially revealed it isn't him underneath the mask, live from his secret location in Simon Cowell's back garden.

That's one suspect down and who knows how many left. We'll just have to wait and see if Ant and Dec can survive this new calamity and rescue the nation.

We mean, they still haven't used that oddly specific "death ray laser jamming system" yet...

Watch how it all plays out when 'The Missing Crown Jewels' continues next Saturday night (March 18) on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, which airs on ITV.
