Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly bonded with a pair of puppies in a new campaign for guide dogs.

The presenting partners cuddled two young trainee guide dogs, who have been named Ant and Dec in a nod to the TV stars, in adorable new campaign photos for the Guide Dogs charity.

The pair met a yellow Labrador named Ant and a golden retriever called Dec as part of the Pups to Partnerships appeal.

McPartlin said that they were “so proud” to support the campaign, adding: “Not only do we get to meet these adorable puppies, but we also get to hear about the great work that Guide Dogs does.”

Donnelly added: “These puppies will go on to change lives and give two people living with sight loss the independence and freedom we take for granted.

“We can’t wait to see how these puppies progress.”

The Guide Dogs Pups to Partnerships appeal is taking place throughout October and aims to raise £420,000 to train puppies from birth to retirement.

McPartlin and Donnelly will next be seen on screens in the new series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, which is set to air on ITV in November.

Earlier this week, the Geordie duo reunited for a teaser trailer for the star-studded survival show. The clip imagines them lost at sea en route to Australia and is part of an interactive campaign which will allow viewers to vote on the outcome of their journey.
