Ant and Dec have been nominated for two BAFTA TV awards, despite the flurry of headlines that have engulfed the pair over the last few weeks, after Ant was arrested and charged for drink driving last month.

The programme awards the presenting duo host are up for are in the same category, no less.

In the battle to secure the gong for Entertainment Programme, the Geordie pair are nominated for both Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and BrItain’s Got Talent.

The lads are competing against other telly favourites that include Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and The Voice UK.

So with two noms it’s increased their chances of winning to a pretty decent 50%.

The news comes in the wake of Dec presenting SNT for the first time on his own, as Ant has stepped away from the spotlight as he recovers. Incidentally, it was one of the series’ most-watched episodes just behind the 100th episode celebrations.

People were quick to voice their thoughts on the matter, especially in the wake of Ant’s reentry to rehab and facing an imminent court date for crashing his car into two others and failing a roadside breathalyser test.

Some veiled their criticism…

While fans simply offered the boys support and had their fingers crossed for them…

And BAFTA themselves congratulated each of the nominations in the category.
