Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have been replaced as the hosts of the 2019 Prince’s Trust Awards.

The I’m A Celebrity and Britain’s Got Talent duo have presented the awards show for the last six years, but have been forced to pull out of this year’s event due to a scheduling conflict.

The awards ceremony will instead be presented by This Morning‘s Phillip Schofield and former Celebrity Juice panelist Fearne Cotton.

Ant and Dec’s representative said in a statement: “The Prince’s Trust invited Ant & Dec to host the Prince’s Trust Awards. However, due to the event taking place a week later than last year, this year’s date unfortunately clashed with commitments they already had in place.

“The long-standing Ambassadors of the Trust have recorded a special video message for the event this year.”

Ant and Dec suffer first awards snub in nine years

The Geordie presenters were recently snubbed at the 2019 Royal Television Awards, not receiving a single nomination.

This is the first time they have been left out of the prestigious annual awards in nine years. The pair had continually received nominations since 2010, but this year it was not meant to be.

McPartlin recently returned to television after a year away from the spotlight following his time in rehab, arrest, and subsequent drink-driving fine.

Just a few days after he returned to his Britain’s Got Talent gig he – along with Donnelly – won an National Television Award for Best Presenters. Their award proved controversial, with some viewers arguing that, as McPartlin had barely been on television the last year, the duo didn’t deserve to win the accolade.

McPartlin even admitted he didn’t feel like could accept the award, and that receiving the gong was ‘a genuine shock’.

“This is a genuine shock, especially this year. I’m shaking. We want to say thank you to everybody, I really don’t feel like I can accept it, the one reason we won this award was this guy, his wit his determination, I love you, pal,” he said.
