Ant and Dec reveal lucky charm after NTAs winITV

Ant and Dec have revealed a special "good luck" charm that may have helped them win the Best TV Presenter Award at the NTAs for the 23rd year running.

The duo were victorious in the category they've dominated for more than two decades at the O2 Arena in London on Wednesday (September 11).

This time, Ant and Dec faced competition from Alison Hammond (This Morning), Bradley Walsh (The Chase), Claudia Winkleman (The Traitors) and Stacey Solomon (Sort Your Life Out).

"We know one year we're not going to win it," Ant said in his speech, before Dec chimed in: "... but not tonight!"

The presenting pair reflected on how their lives have changed since the first time they won the TV Presenter award 23 years ago.

"We've now got very, very, small children," Ant said. "It used to be we'd be out partying all night, but now we're back to dirty nappies and the school run."

Dec also revealed that before he left for the NTAs, his daughter Isla said: "Take my lip balm, I think it'll be good luck." In the speech, Dec declared: "Isla, it worked!"

It was a very good night for Ant and Dec, as they also won the prestigious Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award for I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

While Ant and Dec technically won the TV Presenter Award for their trek to the jungle for I'm a Celebrity, they've had so many on-screen successes since last year's NTAs.

The duo's game show Limitless Win recently aired its third season, while Ant and Dec wrapped up the final (for now) season of Saturday Night Takeaway this past spring.

The boys were later front and center during all five nights of the Britain's Got Talent live semi-finals and even have a TV reboot in the works.

Earlier this year, Ant and Dec confirmed they were "developing" a remake of Byker Grove — the series that made them superstars in the 1990s.

The National Television Awards were held at the O2 Arena in London on Wednesday (September 11), airing live on ITV1.
