Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway will return in February, it has been announced.

Fans have been wondering when the much-loved variety show will be back, and ITV has now confirmed that it returns live to ITV and ITV Hub later this month.

It will be the 18th series of the duo's show which first aired in 2002.

A new light-hearted promo shows various hilarious clips of the pair’s blunders, as Ant describes the programme as a “well-oiled machine”.

“We always have it under control,” adds Dec, before the voiceover teases: “They rarely have it under control.”

The narrator carries on to joke that “each week famous faces queue up to throw themselves at the mercy of Ant and Dec”.

Other clips show the presenters dressed up as pandas and Dec whizzing down a giant inflatable pink slide.

It has been a big week for Ant and Dec, as earlier this week it was announced that their Limitless Win show will be back for a second series.

The game show — which sees contestants answering questions to climb a cash ladder and has an unlimited jackpot — has been a hit since launching this year and ITV said bringing it back was “a no-brainer”.

The duo said they couldn’t wait to film more episodes of the quiz.

The first series of Limitless Win is due to end this weekend.
