Ant and Dec's drag queen performance on 'Saturday Night Takeaway' has been hit with complaints.

The co-hosts donned sparkly outfits and wigs on Saturday's (19.02.22) episode for their End of the Show Show segment, but some viewers were less than impressed with the pair.

UK communications regulator Ofcom received 71 complaints about the episode, and 59 were related to the drag routine, in which the 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' presenters called themselves Lady Antoinette and Miss Donna Lee.

Eight of the complaints were related to Ant and Dec's pranking of Jeremy Clarkson on his Diddly Squat Farm.

However, their drag performance also sparked a mixed reaction online, with some questioning whether it was suitable for "a family show".

One posted on Twitter: "Is this really acceptable for a family show, I have submitted a complaint as I don’t think it’s suitable and will confuse a lot of younger viewers (sic)"

Another wrote: "What the were Ant and Dec thinking of. Embarrassing for a family show. Way down in my estimation now"

But a number of viewers disagreed, and praised the performance.

One wrote: "no cause i can’t stop watching ant and dec doing drag like to have two huge presenters on prime time tv celebrating drag rather that ridiculing it is so special (sic)"

Another tweeted: "CAN WE PLZ TALK ABOUT ANT AND DEC IN DRAG???!!! INCREDIBLE #SaturdayNightTakeaway (sic)"

One posted: "All those complaining about Ant and Dec in drag and saying it is a family show - have you never gone to a pantomime?! (sic)"
