Ant & Dec gave us the second part of their latest skit series The Missing Crown Jewels, and it looks like the incompetent partnership is up against an evil genius.

Airing on tonight's (March 4) Saturday Night Takeaway, the short feature saw the Ant & Dec try to explain themselves after the Queen's Crown Jewels went missing on their watch.

As part of an elite group who have been awarded Royal honours, last week the duo was tasked with guarding the Jewels as part of an initiation – though got distracted by a vending machine, natch.

Trying to explain themselves to boss Joanna Lumley, who rightly calls them "idiots", the pair craft an elaborate "post truth" story involving ninjas and other dimensions.

Not convincing anyone, Ant & Dec are then sent to work with a support team of other celebrities in the group, including Clare Balding, Carol Vorderman, and H from Steps.

However, Ant cannot stop giggling at people mentioning having a "firm grip on the crown jewels".

The team is then ambushed by the actual thief, who wants to rule the UK by sitting in Buckingham Palace with the Jewels.

Calling themselves 'Maskface', the thief is deliberately ambiguous as to whether they are a man or a woman.

Completely stumped, Dec declares: "I tell you what we do, we panic!"

The Missing Crown Jewels continues on next week's Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, which airs on ITV.
