Ant McPartlin enjoyed a family day out with his sister and her children after revealing that he will not be back on TV this year.

The TV star was all smiles as he surrounded himself with family at a water park at the weekend.

McPartlin posed in a life-jacket and sliders alongside his sister Sarha, brother-in-law Andy and their children.

His sister captioned the image: “#MakingMemories @antanddec @nigrelli101 #lovinglife thanx liquid leisure x”

She added: “Best day ever! #family #ninjawarrior.”

The snap comes after McPartlin announced he will continue to take a break from all presenting roles until 2019 following his readmission to rehab after a drink-driving conviction in March.

McPartlin, and TV partner Declan Donnelly, have also made the joint decision not to present a new series of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway next year.

The 42-year-old said: “My recovery is going very well and for that to continue having spoken to Dec and ITV, I have made the decision to take the rest of the year off.

“I’d like to thank both Dec and ITV for their continued support and I look forward to getting back to work in the new year.”

The duo told how they did not want to risk compromising the quality of the show and added that they intend to bring the Saturday night show back in 2020, “bigger and better than ever.”

Donnelly said: “Whilst I am obviously sad at the thought of being without my best friend in Australia this year, I am proud of the work Ant has been doing privately and I am fully supportive of his decision.

“I’m looking forward to us both being reunited on screen in 2019.”

ITV boss Kevin Lygo told how the channel is in “complete support” of McPartlin during his recovery.
