Ant McPartlin and Lisa Armstrong granted divorce in 30 seconds

Ant McPartlin and his wife of 11 years Lisa Armstrong are now divorced. The estranged couple were granted a decree nisi by a London judge at the Central Family Court in less than 30 seconds on Tuesday morning.

42-year-old McPartlin announced his separation from Armstrong in January, after months of speculation that the couple were on the rocks.

In a statement issued at the time, a representative said: “In response to the recent speculation in the media, Ant is very sad to announce that, after 11 years, he is ending his marriage to Lisa McPartlin.

“Ant asks for privacy at this difficult time, for both himself, Lisa and their immediate families.

“No further statement will be made.”

McPartlin married make-up artist Lisa Armstrong in 2006. The couple have no children together.

Last year, the former I’m a Celebrity…Get Me out of Here! host and one half of presenting duo Ant & Dec, went to rehab for painkiller addiction and this year he was fined £86,000 and banned from driving for 20 months following a drunk-driving incident.

He later announced he is stepping back from TV commitments and will not appear on this year’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

McPartlin will be replaced by Holly Willoughby, who will host the show alongside Declan Donnelly from Australia later this year.

However, he could scoop the best TV presenter gong at the National Television Awards.

Ant and Dec are in the running for the title, at next year’s ceremony, for Saturday Night Takeaway.
