Ant McPartlin's wife Lisa Armstrong breaks silence on marital rumours: 'I'm not estranged'

They were recently rumoured to be “effectively leading separate lives” ahead of him resuming his co-hosting duties on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

But Ant McPartlin‘s wife Lisa Armstrong has hit out at reports she is estranged from her husband.

Lisa – who has been married to the 41-year-old TV presenter for 11 years – has taken to Twitter to insist she is very much with Ant, and isn’t heading out to Australia to spend time with him during I’m A Celeb because she never makes the trip Down Under.

She tweeted: “#writewhatyouwant #haventbeentoOzfor10years #ihaveajob #allaloadofmadeupshit #imnotestrangedthank-you #asyouwere (sic)”

Lisa is thought to work as a make-up artist on Strictly Come Dancing.

Her defiant tweets come after reports she and Ant – who completed a stint in rehab over the summer for prescription drug addiction – were “effectively leading separate lives”.

A friend told The Sun: “Ant is spending time apart from Lisa – he’s said he needs space and everyone respects that.

“They are effectively leading separate lives while he re-evaluates everything.”

Ant is said to be living in a £1.6 million rented house just streets away from his and Lisa’s £6 million west London property.

Earlier this week, Ant was all smiles as he was spotted arriving in Australia ahead of the return of I’m A Celebrity on November 19 alongside his co-host Declan Donnelly.

The TV presenter admitted he is “feeling great” ahead of the new series.

He told The Sun: “I’m excited to be back, I can’t wait. It’s going to be a good show. I’m feeling great. The flight was all right, I had a lot of sleep and me and Dec had a good catch-up.”

Dec said: “It’s brilliant to be back together – it’s perfect. Everything slots back into place. We can’t wait and we are raring to go.”

Ant and Lisa met in Newcastle in 1994 when they were both performing on the Smash Hits Tour.

He was part of PJ and Duncan – his and Dec’s group named after their Byker Grove characters – and she was a member of pop band Deuce.
