Anthony Joshua Accepts Tyson Fury's Offer to Train Him – Under One Condition

Since his unanimous defeat against Oleksandr Usyk back in September we haven't heard too much from Anthony Joshua. Sure, there have been rumblings that he's been travelling around the US looking for a new coach, but we haven't really heard from the man himself. Until now that is.

Joshua recently sat down with the guys from iFL TV and gave an hour-long interview, where he discussed everything from what went wrong against Usyk to the changes he intends to make to his camp.

During the interview, he also responded to heavyweight rival Tyson Fury's offer to train him, and surprisingly, he was receptive, with one condition.

"Yeah, lovely mate," said Joshua about Fury’s coaching offer. "If he takes no money for it. I don’t know if he’s after a quid or two.

"He’s more than welcome to come through the doors. He can even spar with me as well. I need a coach that's lived it and breathed it, so it'd be perfect.

"That’ll be the easiest way to get him in the ring, I’ll set up a camera, Eddie [Hearn] will be there with a few cameras running it on Facebook or YouTube."

While he may not really want to take up Fury on his offer to train him, the former heavyweight champ is looking to work with new coaches to develop his boxing skills.

Joshua revealed the purpose of his recent trip to the States was to link up with legendary boxing trainers Virgil Hunter, Eddie Reynoso, Ronnie Shields and Robert Garcia. "I just looked at myself and said I need to get out of my comfort zone," he said.

However, he isn't looking for these trainers to remake him, Joshua just wants to learn from them and hopes their experience can help him build on the abilities that made him a champion in the first place.

He said: "I'm done with f***ing losing. I'm done with trying to learn the sweet science... he might get thrown on the floor in the next fight because this is war.

"It's just straight war. I'm annoyed. I'm boiling up even speaking about it – it's that passion to win."
