Manchester United’s game against Liverpool was called off on Sunday, May 2, after a crowd of fans took to the pitch at Old Trafford in protest against the Glazer family’s ownership of the club.
The protest, which came in the wake of Manchester United’s involvement in a proposed breakaway Super League, drew over a thousand to the stadium, Greater Manchester Police said. Of them, “about 100 forced entry to the ground,” police said.
This footage, taken by Manchester Untied fan Pranav Ahlawat, shows a crowd spilling from the stands onto the pitch.
“Fans have had enough of the Glazers and felt they needed to be listened to. We all want our club back and did what we thought was good for it. The atmosphere was amazing too,” Ahlawat told Storyful.
