Anti-Macron Protest in Lyon as President Re-elected

A group of left-wing protesters marched through the streets of Lyon on April 24, to express their discontent with the re-election of Emmanuel Macron as French president.

Footage captured by @Bismuthback shows a crowd marching under the red glow of a flare and behind a banner reading “Down with Macron” and calling him the “Robin des Bourges”, or the Robin Hood of the bourgeoisie.

Local media said around 200 people took part.

Some protesters aimed fireworks at the town hall of the fourth arrondissement, Lyon Capitale said, with police then intervening.

Actu Lyon said two people were arrested. Credit: @Bismuthback via Storyful
