'Anti-Semitism, Actually': Hugh Grant Heckled for Supporting Labour Candidate

Hugh Grant was heckled by anti-racism protesters while campaigning for a Labour candidate in North London on December 4.

The Hollywood star has been touring constituencies and backing candidates from a range of parties running against the Conservatives.

According to media reports, the clash came after Grant gave an outdoor speech to crowds in Chingford and Woodford Green – the seat held by Tory Brexiteer Iain Duncan Smith.

As he was leaving, one protester, Harry Saul Markham, accused the star of endorsing a “racist political party”.

“Hugh Grant, why are you campaigning for the Labour Party? You know they are institutionally racist. You said so yourself,” Markham can be heard saying in the video.

Markham posted the video to Facebook and wrote: “Antisemitism, Actually! The moment I confronted Hugh Grant on why he was campaigning for the Labour Party in Chingford and Woodford Green. He refused to engage or answer any of my questions. Says a great deal.”
