You've not lived unless you've sat through Antiques Roadshow trying to guess how much all the bits and bobs brought in by the public are worth – it was even notoriously a favourite pastime of The Royle Family.

Well, chances are even your best armchair guesses would have fallen a little short of the estimate given to an antique on an upcoming episode of the Roadshow.

While exact details are being kept under wraps until the full broadcast, it has been revealed that a precious jewelled flower turned up on an episode being filmed in Birmingham, one created by the prestigious Russian jewellery house Fabergé – and it was reportedly valued at a staggering £1,000,000!

While the Russian company, which dates back to the early 1800s, is widely known for making ornate 'eggs' from precious materials, it put its name to all sorts of other fine objects, including this pricey creation.

Talking generally about the beauty of the show, Fiona Bruce said (via Stourbridge News): "The best part of working on Antiques Roadshow is that we never know who or what is going to turn up on the day.

"The visitors, the objects they bring, their stories and the location all combine to make a fabulous experience that we aim to capture for the viewers."

We will have to wait a little while before we see the unexpected treasure uncovered on the show, as the episode is due for broadcast in autumn.
