Antonio Brown posts grateful messages on social media after being cut by Patriots

The New England Patriots have severed ties with wide receiver Antonio Brown.

Brown himself effectively broke the news, taking to Twitter shortly after 4 p.m. Eastern time on Friday to thank the organization:

Brown played one game with the Patriots, catching four passes and scoring one touchdown against the Miami Dolphins in Week 2.

In addition to his tweet, the seven-time Pro Bowler also posted a pair of pictures of himself with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick on Instagram:

New claims of intimidation surfaced against Brown late Thursday night. An artist who accused him of unwanted sexual advances while she was painting a mural in his home in 2017 said the wide receiver sent an intimidating group text message that included photos of her children, after she was mentioned in a Sports Illustrated story earlier in the week.

The Patriots had signed Brown to a one-year, $15 million contract on September 7 after he was released by the Oakland Raiders, with a $9 million signing bonus.
