'It's a boy!': Holly Willoughby turns to psychic banana to determine gender of Royal baby

Holly Willoughby has ruined the surprise for Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge after she turned to a psychic banana to work out the gender of the new royal baby.

Kate Middleton was admitted to the private Lindo Wing of St Mary's Paddington on Monday morning after she went into labour with the couple’s third child.

The royal couple, who already have son Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, two, have chosen not to find out if they’re having a boy or a girl.

But Willoughby couldn’t wait to find out and turned to a psychic banana to find out ahead of the birth.

Explaining the special fruit to co-host Phillip Schofield on This Morning she said: “It is important to ask the banana the most important question of the day: is she going to have a boy or a girl?

“If it’s a dot it’s a no if it’s a Y it’s a yes. Is she going to have a boy?”

Willoughby then sliced off the end of the fruit to reveal a ‘Y’.

Excited with her finding she said: “It’s a yes – I said that. It’s a boy!”

It’s not the first time Willoughby has turned to the yellow fruit for advice. In 2016 she used a banana to determine the sex of a This Morning caller’s unborn child.

Kensington Palace this morning confirmed in a statement that Kate had gone into labour.

It said: “The Duchess of Cambridge has been admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital and is in the early stages of labour.

“The Duchess travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge.”

Alice and Arthur are the current favourites to be the child's chosen moniker.
