'Assistant' Robbie Williams gatecrashes Simon Cowell’s Loose Women interview to deliver coffee to wife Ayda Field

Robbie Williams turned his back on singing to play assistant to his wife on Loose Women as he gatecrashed her interview with Simon Cowell.

Ayda Field was talking to the music mogul when Williams made a hilarious interruption to deliver coffee during Monday's show.

“Excuse me,” he said. “Ma’am I’ve just bought your coffee. Is there anything else you would like me to do – or do you just want me to get out of the way?”

Field tasked him with cleaning her car before telling Cowell: “He’s still rough around the edges but I’m training him. He talks so much and he’s got a very thick northern accent.”

Cowell then revealed how he could have formed a partnership with the Angels singer a few years back, but Williams “dumped” him.

The X Factor judge said: “Robert and myself had a chance to work together many, many years ago but I was dumped. We would have been really good friends.”

Williams jumped in: “It wasn’t me that dumped Simon.”

Cowell continued: “It’s uncomfortable but I’ll have to deal with it.”

Cowell was also overshadowed by his tickling son Eric who couldn’t resist annoying his dad by pinching his nose with a peg.

The four-year-old tot, who he has with Lauren Silverman, jumped over his dad after drinking “annoying juice”.

Showing he is very much a daddy’s boy he agreed Cowell is the best Britain’s Got Talent judge, but insisted that he is the best looking.
