The thrilled couple announced the news on Christina’s Instagram page on Friday morning, revealing that the little one is named Patricia Charlotte, after his late mother.

The TV presenter posted a photo of the newborn, taken from her hospital bed, sharing with her 340 thousand followers: ‘Let us introduce you to our little girl. Patricia Charlotte Lampard! We’re so in love @franklampard'

Famous friends of the pair were quick to congratulate the couple.

Fellow TV presenter Helen Skelton also commented: 'Huge congratulations xxxx'

The couple first revealed the happy news that Christine was pregnant in May.

Sharing a sweet selfie of himself with his wife of three years and his two daughters from a previous relationship, Luna and Isla, Frank Lampard wrote: 'We have some exciting news we wanted to share with you.

'The Lampard family is growing! My gorgeous wife @christinelampard is pregnant and we all couldn’t be happier!!!'

While their new bundle of joy is the couple's first child together, Frank has daughters Luna, 13, and Isla, 11, with his former fiancée, Spanish model Elen Rivas, 43.

Previously speaking about how her experience as a stepmum had given her some insight into motherhood, Christine said: 'I have had the girls since they were four and two and they are 13 and 11 [now] so I have been through all the toddler years, the primary and secondary school bit and teenagers are around the corner.

'That is preparation, although the baby years is all new to me, so I’ll take it day by day really, like every other new mum.'
