Note to all I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! campmates, be wary of ever sharing an anecdote in front of John Barrowman - unless you're Harry Redknapp.

The footballer Harry has his share of impressive yarns (like his numerous awkward royal encounters), but he got very nearly got one-upped in Tuesday's (November 20) episode when he shared the sweet story of wooing his wife Sandra.

Sure it's the same wife he eventually ran over by accident (she's fine now!), but it was a charming little story nonetheless that Harry shared with John while they were fetching wood for the campfire.

"Me and my mate Macca, he was a goalkeeper for West Ham saw these two lovely girls and I said to Macca shall we have a dance with those two," he remembered.

"Macca is a good looking geezer and I look back on it now and think Sandra must have seen us both coming over and thought 'I hope I aint got him' [Harry] and she went for me, 54 years later we're still going strong. And Macca ended up as an undertaker so really Sandra had the better deal in the long term."

That was a very endearing story, that was very quickly trumped when John told him that one of the biggest stars of all-time helped him get his own first date with would-be husband Scott Gill.

"I was in Sunset Boulevard at the time and I invited Scott to come and see me and we'd then go out for a meal," John recalled. "Well that night we were meant to go out I get a call from someone who said they had Cher on the line.

"She'd seen the show the night before and wanted to take me out for dinner. I said, 'That's amazing, but I can't go'. I spoke to Cher and told her why and she said no one had ever turned her down before, so bring Scott along. So our first date was with Cher."

There's so much humble-bragging going on in that story, that we lost count. Viewers couldn't help but feel bad for poor Harry… when they weren't chuckling:

Yet, Harry seemed perfectly content with his choice: "While John was having dinner with Cher I was with Sandra at the Two Puddings! I know who got the best of the deal."

I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! continues on Wednesday (November 21) at 9pm on ITV, followed immediately thereafter by Extra Camp on ITV2.
