I'm A Celebrity's Kezia Dugdale is in a spot of bother with the Scottish Labour Party.

The politician and former leader didn't receive permission from her colleagues to enter the jungle, and this morning (November 24), the party's new leader Richard Leonard spoke about the situation – and addressed whether she risks being fired from the party upon her return to the UK.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, he told presenters Ben Shepherd and Kate Garraway that he isn't going to suspend Dugdale from Scottish Labour – but the former leader hasn't got off the hook that easily.

He said: "When she comes back in three weeks' time from Australia, the party manager will sit down and have a discussion with her.

"After having heard her view and getting her side of the story, we'll then make a decision based on that."

While Leonard doesn't have any immediate plans to withdraw the party whip from Dugdale, the newly-elected Scottish Labour leader made it clear she is not in his good books.

He added: "I am disappointed that she chose to do [I'm A Celebrity]. There are two issues here. One is that we expect our MPs to be diligent in their parliamentary works, and it is a great privilege and honour to to be elected by the people to be their representative in parliament.

"The second issue that she sought authorisation and didn't get it. So she is there on unauthorised absence. So that's a bit of an issue for us inside the Labour Party of Scotland."
