One of the best parts of I'm a Celebrity every year is when the campmates get their letters from home, and the 2018 instalment did not disappoint.

The pure emotion of John Barrowman, Emily Atack, James McVey and others receiving support from their loved ones played out with some genuine schmaltz in Tuesday's episode (December 4), after the full group took part in the Chicken Coop challenge.

They had to pass eggs named for each camper along the length of a coop while other celebrities guided them into a basket, but any broken eggs meant that person didn't get their letter. Unfortunately, Fleur and Anne's eggs cracked, so they were left out.

But the rest of camp got to hear from their loved ones, and received some juicy information. For example, Nick Knowles now knows he's a far bigger popstar than his mates Biffy Clyro, while another camper got a cheeky warning not to trust Harry Redknapp.

Below are all of the campmates' letters from home:

James' letter, from his girlfriend Kirstie:

"I read the letter you left for me in your suitcase and I broke down in tears after the first line, which I'm sure won't surprise you one bit. My gorgeous pup, you are so beautifully sensitive and kind. The way you've carried yourself in the camp is an absolute testimony to that and I want you to be as proud of yourself as I am of you, because I know how nervous you were going into this.

"As daunting as this whole process has been for you, I hope you are (and think you will be) so happy for having thrown yourself into it. I've become even more soppy since you left. The lack of contact is just the weirdest thing, so I've been getting around it by texting you every now and again.

"I miss you I miss you I miss you and I love you to the ends of the earth. Oh, and happy belated anniversary my darling! Four years together! I fall more in love with you every day. I hope you know that. Keep being you, my darling."

Emily's letter, from her mum Kate:

"I can't even begin to tell you how PROUD we are of you! You've been so brave and determined and you've been your true self from the second you arrived. You seem so happy.

"You're so funny and your beautiful freckly face without makeup reminds me of when you were 9 years old. I know that in John you have made a friend for life. Keep being kind to others and keep dong the impressions."

Rita's letter, from her mum (including some shade for Harry):

"I never doubted that you would grab this challenge by the horns and give it everything you've got, and even though I know what you're capable of, I'm still amazed by what you've coped with. I'm SO proud of you and you are an inspiration to your children.

"I love how Noel and Harry said that they're scared of you – Harry even said that any critters you come up against would run away from you!!! By the way, I'd pay attention to what he says if I were you – his tactical skills are legendary and you never know when they might come in useful."

Nick's letter, from son TJ:

"I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how very proud I am of you, not only in terms of how you are doing in the camp, but most importantly how proud I am that you're my dad.

"Just to let you know, you owe Chris Moyles a pint, as despite everything last week him and his radio team managed to get 'Make You Feel My Love' to number one in the iTunes Chart! Can't wait to see you and hope the Rice and Beans aren't getting too tedious."

Harry's letter, from his wife Sandra:

"I have always been proud of you but the last two weeks watching you has made me realise your strength and determination to succeed at anything life throws at you. But I never thought it would mean eating fish eyes! You have made us all proud.

"We miss you terribly but I am being well looked after by everybody. The family love you and are so proud of you Love you always, PS jam roly poly is waiting!"

John's letter, from husband Scott:

"We are just LOVING watching you every day in the show, and seeing you in the trials has been both hilarious and horrifying at the same time. We are so proud of how you've kept soldiering on without enough food or sleep – and that in spite of everything you've still managed to hold on to your FABULOUSNESS!

"I never doubted you – but yes, there have been moments when I could see how much you were in need of a good sandwich… I am really missing you now, but hope not to get to see you for a little while yet as I can see that underneath it all you're really loving every minute of the show and having a blast.

"I am so looking forward to Xmas when we can snuggle up with the dogs again in a nice big comfortable bed – and watch your I'm a Celebrity exploits all over again together."

I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! continues on Wednesday (December 5) at 9pm on ITV, followed by Extra Camp directly after on ITV2.
