It's official - Blue are recording new music

From Digital Spy

Blue definitely aren't ready for the curtain to fall on them as a band just yet.

Simon Webbe told OK! Online that he's reuniting with fellow members Lee Ryan, Duncan James and Antony Costa to make new music.

"We're in the studio – we can't give an exact date – but we are in the studio recording new music!" he said.

There's no word yet on what format this music will take, but a full-length album is certainly possible.

Blue have released five albums to date, with the most recent, Colours, reaching number 13 in the UK charts in 2015.

Simon also explained why the band have now chosen to release their autobiography, BLUE: ALL RISE: Our Story.

"We're all in a new chapter in our lives now, myself and Duncan are 40 next year," he said.

"And for us, as a band, there are a lot of things that people think they know… the book clears it all up.

"Musically we haven't peaked. We've got so much more to give.

We want this to be a stepping stone to more things. Hopefully this is the first of many books."

And it sounds like it will be a very enlightening read – Simon's likened the writing experience to therapy.

"There were some dark times in the book, when you go back and rehash and go back over hard times, it can be like a therapy session," he said.

"It was a good thing because we can see where others were coming from at certain situations.

"Now we've written it, we can move on to our next chapter."

Duncan added that they could have written a much longer book with all the material they had.

"We left out loads", he said. "If you think about our lives over the last 17 years, we probably had enough stories to write 100 books!"

They could probably have got a whole book just out of Duncan's Hollyoaks storylines...
