Police officer Daniel Fitzpatrick shared a selfie with a pair of lost pygmy goats in the back of his patrol car in a bid to find their owners.

The officer was called out to a house by a woman reporting she’d found two goats snacking on catfood in her garage in Belfast, Maine in the US.

Officer Fitzpatrick then used a cat leash to get them in to his van, where they stayed all afternoon. In between feeding them carrots and celery, the officer uploaded this selfie with his runaways on Facebook — with the owner spotting the post and collecting them.

Fitzpatrick said the pair — named Louis and Mowgli — had been “good company” while he was on shift.
