Jurgen Klopp has promised there is much more to come from Naby Keita following an encouraging start to the midfielder's Liverpool career.

The Reds faced a 12-month wait for their man after securing a deal to bring in Keita from Red Bull Leipzig in the summer of 2017 – paying a premium on top of a release clause that would have become active this year.

And the Guinean has performed impressively as Liverpool have started the new Premier League campaign with back-to-back wins over West Ham and Crystal Palace.

Speaking after Monday evening's victory at Selhurst Park, Klopp talked up the potential of his new No.8 after another fine showing in the centre of the park.

But the German also warned his side's Premier League rivals that Keita is only just getting started.

"He's very shy and not very extroverted but on the pitch you don't see it. He needs to settle a little bit. He's next to Sadio all the time [in training]," he told Sky Sports.

"Everybody loves Naby but I don't know if he loves us because he doesn't speak a lot. But football-wise you can see the potential is outstanding but we have to give him time.

"Defensively he's very stable in his challenges. Tactically he can improve, and he must improve, but what else I don't know."
