Here's when The X Factor will be back

ITV's musical talent show The X Factor is returning to our screens this September.

Confirmed via the show's official Twitter page, it also shared a link for a teaser clip from the upcoming series.

The post reads: "Cancel your weekend plans, The #XFactor is back this September! Check out our brand new teaser on our website now!"

Although no official date has been revealed, the clip offers a sneak peek of some performances alongside a first look at the new judges in action.

This year completely revamps the judging panel, fetching in the likes of Louis Tomlinson, Robbie Williams and Ayda Field. However, this means that fans of The X Factor will have to do without the Irish charm of Louis Walsh and The Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger.

A number of online followers reacted excitedly to the show's return, but who will be this year's success story?

Responding to Gary Barlow's comments on the tough road ahead for new judge Robbie, the 'Angels' singer revealed: "I read in the newspapers a few things that he said. I emailed him this morning, and he just sent me his best wishes.

"I'll know what questions to ask him as of tomorrow, because the audition process starts.

"So if there's anybody's ear that I'm going to be bending, it'll be Gary's. Also David Walliams, who's a mate of mine, I'll be bending his ear too. But we don't really know what we're in for."

The X Factor will air on ITV from this September.
