Re-appeal to trace man police want to speak to after reports of man with weapon in Guisborough
Police have issued a re-appeal to trace a man following reports that a man was seen in Guisborough with a weapon.
Armed police were seen across areas of the town following reports of a man carrying a weapon at around 10.10am on Wendesday, October 16. Posts on social media said police officers were seen on Union Street, Raithwaite Close and Northgate throughout the day.
Investigating officers from Cleveland Police released two images of Steven Bremner, 33, as they’d like to speak to in connection with these reports as he may have information to help police enquiries. The force has not received any report of anyone having been injured, and officers have remained in the area conducting further investigations.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Snaith said: “We believe that Steven may have information which could assist us with our ongoing investigation. We would appeal directly to him to contact us, or anyone who may know where he is to call police with that information.
“Anyone who is knowingly supporting Steven Bremner in avoiding police at this time would also be committing a criminal offence, and police will take appropriate action. Steven has links to the Guisborough area as well as North Yorkshire and we would continue to appeal to anyone with information on his whereabouts or anyone who may have seen him to contact us, or call Crimestoppers anonymously.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting ref 198348. Similarly, we would ask Steven to get in touch so we can speak with him.
If you don’t want to speak to police, you can pass information anonymously to www.crimestoppers-uk.org or phone them on 0800 555 111.
