Ukrainian soldiers were applauded by locals as flags flew in the town of Snihurivka, some 25 miles north of Kherson city, amid military reports it had been recaptured from Russian forces.
The footage, released by the 131st Separate Reconnaissance Battalion on November 10, shows soldiers saying “Slava Ukraini” (“glory to Ukraine”) in front of a raised national flag. The battalion said it had “liberated” the town, according to a machine translation.
Mykolaiv Oblast Governor Vitaly Kim told Suspilne that he was waiting for official confirmation from the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the status of the town.
He said that district authorities were preparing humanitarian aid.
