Application for Paragon station improvements submitted to Council
A planning application for improvements to Hull Paragon Railway Station has been submitted to Hull City Council.
TransPennine Express has submitted an application to revamp a currently disused office space in the station. Located at the Western end of the station by Platform 2, lies a vacant office space that is described in the planning application as having "lain empty for a number of years" and being in a "poor state of disrepair."
This part of the building is owned and maintained externally by Network Rail. TPE are seeking now permission to improve the space to form new staff accommodation.

The improvements are set to include:
Rot eradication work.
Replacement of the internal partitions within the building.
Replacement of the windows and skylights.
Replacement of the existing lime plaster.
Repair the existing timber staircase
The plan states the project will seek to retain as much of the existing timber skirtings/architraves and ornate features as possible within the construction. Anywhere this cannot be retained, it will be replaced like for like.
It is clear from pictures from inside the office that there is much work to be done before the space can be operational again.
The Council will now review the application before deciding upon its fate.
