TikTok user @myhealthandbeautyrecipes, renowned for his natural health remedies, recently sparked conversation with his claim that adding two ingredients to your beauty routine can "make wrinkles disappear in five minutes", while also promoting blemish-free skin.

In an honest video, he stated: "Your wrinkles and imperfections will disappear in five minutes thanks to these two ingredients that will naturally revitalise your face and give you clear, radiant and blemish-free skin.

"You need a ripe avocado. Cut it in half, remove the pit and mash its flesh in a bowl. Avocado is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids vitamins A, D and E and many nutrients easily absorbed by the skin for regeneration.

"Avocado also helps prevent and treat eczema and acne. Once it is well mashed, add two tablespoons of honey, and mix well."

In the video, he asserts that honey is antibacterial and can help enhance complexion for a "natural glow". He suggested using these ingredients to create a face mask which can work wonders for your skin.

The expert suggests applying the mixture for 20 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water and a towel. That's all there is to it, according to him.

Since being posted, the video racked up over 10,000 views, with many viewers expressing their gratitude for the recipe in the comments section. But does this viral skincare tip actually work?

Interestingly, avocados have numerous benefits for the skin. They contain an abundance of free radical compounds such as beta-cryptoxanthin, beta carotene, zeaxanthin, alpha-carotene and lutein.

These beneficial elements can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by softening them and making them less noticeable. The mask is safe for daily use, but it should only be left on for 15 to 20 minutes. If left on longer, it can harden and become less effective.

In addition to using it topically, consuming avocados regularly could also improve your complexion. This was supported by a study conducted by the National Library of Medicine.

The study found participants who incorporated avocados into their diet experienced increased elasticity and firmness in their forehead skin. The findings suggest that daily consumption of avocados could enhance the elasticity and firmness of facial skin in healthy women, although further research is needed in this area.
