Apprentice candidate forced to drop out of show over ill health

The Apprentice will see another candidate forced to drop out in tonight's episode – this time over ill health.

Fans of the BBC One show will see the competition boarding a plane again on Thursdau night, as this time the remaining candidates head out to Dubai.

They are tasked with putting on a corporate away day for two international companies based in the UAE, but will they be impressed by the teams' idea of luxury and professionalism?

Viewers will see Glasgow theatre school owner Reece Donnelly forced to quit his place in the running to become Lord Sugar's business partner when he falls ill during the task.

As he is not able to return to complete it, he has to leave the process without an official boardroom firing.

Donnelly told The Star: "I could not continue in The Apprentice due to being unable to complete the task in Dubai for health reasons.

"My goal of being on The Apprentice was to showcase that Scotland has amazing businesses and entrepreneurs. I really hope I’ve done that.

"I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time on the show and I’m looking forward to watching my fellow candidates in the rest of the series. I’m so grateful for my time with Lord Sugar and the team."

Donnelly is not the only candidate to drop out of this year's series – bridal boutique owner Shannon Martin chose to leave in week two as she said she didn't feel the process was right for her.

She explained: “I think that going into the process, I was already having some doubts of whether I should go in or not.

“But when you’re given such an amazing opportunity, you’re not ever going to turn that down, it’s an opportunity of a lifetime that I’m forever grateful for.”

A boardroom firing took place as usual that week, but viewers will have to wait to see whether two people leave again in Thursday's episode.
