Russell Kane has angered a few The Apprentice viewers with a joke about vegans.

The comedian appeared on panel show The Apprentice: You're Hired following Sunday night's final (December 26) which saw Sian Gabbidon become Lord Sugar's next business partner and secure a £250,000 investment for her custom-made swimsuit brand, SYO.

Just losing out was this year's runner-up Camilla Ainsworth, whose premium dairy-free nut milk line MLK IT didn't quite convince Lord Sugar.

And, while speaking to Camilla, Russell revealed he thought her business idea would see her victor, before making a joke that has since been labelled "toilet level sarcasm".

On Camilla's defeat, Russell said: “There’s going to be a lot of angry vegans out there. If only they had the strength to type a complaint.”

And, below are just a few of the unimpressed reactions:

"You know, basing a joke on vegans/vegetarians not having the energy to do something is just not very funny and it's also lazy," said one viewer.

"I so used to like you but vegans are far from weak," added another. "Grow up, Russell & stop with toilet level sarcasm."

Although, there were some viewers who found it funny:

Speaking to Digital Spy about her victory, Sian said: "I feel absolutely over the moon. I’m still pinching myself. I still keep thinking, 'I hope he's not going to change his mind'. It’s crazy. Yeah, I feel amazing.

"This is my life changed now and I always say that I'm literally just a normal girl, and to even get on the show was like, 'Wow, this is amazing', like, 'I'm so happy, and to get as far as I've got and then to actually win it is like, 'Wow'. This is a different level."

Congratulations, Sian!

The Apprentice airs on BBC One.
