Red Frog Wearing Blue Jeans: The Strawberry Poison Dart Frog by Ian.Kate.Bruce's Wildlife

The Strawberry Poison Dart Frog has a variety of colour patterns and this one is a delight to our eyes but a warning to predators. If a snake takes the frog it is released immediately and the snake writhes, scrapes its mouth against the ground and may lie comatose for several hours. Predators may not die from this experience but do learn to avoid brightly coloured frogs. Photographed in the Caribbean lowland rainforest of Costa Rica.
