A new watersports centre and aqua park, filled with water-based activities, has opened this half term.

Wild Shore Blackpool is now welcoming visitors to try out everything from stand-up paddle boarding to kayaking and wakeboarding - the sport where a cable pulls you across a lake as if surfing or snowboarding on water and is gathering popularity at quite a pace.

The park also offers a floating playground where visitors can run, jump and slide on the Ninja Warrior-inspired course. With endless fun obstacles, thrill seekers will be provided with "the perfect challenge of balance and nerve for a range of ages and abilities".

Sessions can be booked individually or in groups, including families, with the enticing choice to rent the entire park out exclusively for birthday parties. On top of all that, Wild Shore Blackpool offers heart-pounding Ringo rides, letting people take turns navigating up and down the lake on hefty inflatables for a thrilling unforgettable ride, full of bumps and splashes.

Additionally, open-water swimming and stand-up paddleboard lessons are available for those wanting to pick up new skills. The fun comes with necessary safety measures though, as minimum age and height restrictions do exist for some activities, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Blackpool Wake Park, which had been operational for over a decade, shut its doors in 2022. The adventure park was acquired by Wild Shore which also has a site in Delamere, Cheshire.

Both the Blackpool and Delamere Wild Shore sites are around an hour's drive away from Liverpool. Wild Shore Delamere also houses the Aqua Chimp floating obstacle course, boasting features such as zip wires, rope swings, climbing walls, and rope bridges.
