Eurogamer report that since the cancellation of Nintendo Live Tokyo earlier in 2024 due to death threats sent by a 27-year-old male resident of Hitachi city in Japan the Japanese police have tracked him down and he has been reportedly charged with forcible obstruction of business. The man sent 39 abusive and death threats via the inquiry form on the the official Nintendo website. According to Japanese newspaper Kyoto Shimbum, the threats reportedly occurred between 22 August and 29 November 2023
