'Ardent Royalist' Dog Keeps Close Eye on Queen's Coffin Procession

Sunny the 18-month-old golden labradoodle is “an ardent royalist”, according to her owner Amanda Holden, who posted video of the dog barking as she watched coverage of Queen Elizabeth’s coffin being brought to St Giles’ Cathedral.

“We’ve never known her to bark at the TV,” Holden said. “She may have sensed the sadness in the room.”

The queen, who had served as the UK’s head of state since 1952, died at Balmoral on September 8, aged 96. Her coffin was lying in rest at the Edinburgh cathedral on September 13, before its transportation to London. Credit: Amanda Holden via Storyful
