Are Melissa and Clark from Married At First Sight still together?

Married At First Sight viewers were left majorly disappointed after three of the four couples featured on the show announced they were splitting, including marital match Melissa and Clark, on Tuesday night’s series finale.

Five weeks after tying the knot, the four couples taking part in the intense process said they wanted to stay married when quizzed by the matchmaking experts, but the course of true love never did run smooth. *Sigh*

Five months on things were looking very different, as it was revealed that Adam and Caroline were the only couple who were still together while Sara and Adam, Steve and Lucie, and Clark and Melissa had called it quits.

Fan favourites Clark and Melissa (#Clarissa) decided to spend time apart following some uncertainty about whether they should have moved in together, as Melissa started a new job in Milton Keynes.

However if you had been paying attention to social media, you might have noticed some cracks were beginning to show before the final episode aired, as Clark shared a dubious text post on Instagram.

It read: “Generic post about how all men are terrible,” to which his wife, Melissa, replied: “And you’re the worst one” with a stuck-out tongue face emoji – a mystifying message that was difficult to decipher.

Fast-forward to now, and our hearts are officially broken as the pair revealed they had “both underestimated how difficult it was going to be” during a video message prior to the episode’s credits.

Opening up about his split from Melissa, the business development manager posted a photo of himself and his estranged wife last night, explaining how the whole process of making the show had driven them “round the bend.”

In a passionate post, he told fans: “This married at first sight thing has sent us both round the bend – I’m very lucky to have met Melissa and intrigued to know where the future will take us!

“Melissa is an amazing woman who is beautiful, funny and everything I could ask for as a wife – the time apart will give us a chance to properly date and get to know each other in normal circumstances.

“One thing to take away for anyone who wants to get married… DONT!!! ONLY JOKING!!! Marriage is hard but f**king rewarding and I can honestly say that if I was to meet Melissa again at the end of the aisle I’d do it again.”

Aww, love isn’t dead after all.
