Ariana Grande was spotted dancing in the rain after she revealed she is taking a step back from the limelight to “heal” in the wake of Mac Miller’s death.

The pop sensation strolled through the streets of New York City in the midst of a heavy rainstorm, without an umbrella.

Despite the grim weather, Grande was seen skipping carefree in an oversized jumper, matching grey bottoms and her hair pulled into space buns.

The 25-year-old was later seen smiling and joking with friends as they enjoyed a Starbucks.

The news comes after the No Tears Left To Cry singer skipped the Primetime Emmy Awards in a bid to take time to “heal and mend”, according to People.

A representative told the publication: “Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend.

“She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline.

“She thanks her fans for their understanding.”

The awards came just days after Grande’s ex-boyfriend Miller died of an expected overdose.

In a touching tribute to the rapper Grande shared a video of the Miller laughing.

She captioned the post: “I adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will. i can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. i really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times.

“I’m so mad, i’m so sad i don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you’re okay now. rest (sci).”
