Today marks the one-year anniversary of the devastating Manchester Arena terrorist attack, during an Ariana Grande concert that devastated the city.

Last May, a terrorist detonated a bomb inside the venue of the 24-year-old’s world tour venue. 22 fans were killed and 139 were injured – over half of those were children.

And, as expected, the star has sent out a poignant message to her fans and everyone that was affected in the horrific attack 12 months ago.

The Side To Side popstar tweeted a heartfelt message to her 57.4 million followers.

‘thinking of you all today and every day I love you with all of me and am sending you all of the light and warmth I have to offer on this challenging day’, she said.

The attack was the deadliest in the couutry since 2005’s London bombings, and prompted the singer to return to the UK just a few weeks later for the One Love Manchester concert.

Despite fear and unrest, it attracted some 50,000 people to see acts like Ariana, Coldplay, Liam Gallagher, Little Mix, and Miley Cyrus perform at the Emirates Old Trafford venue.

It paid tribute to the vicitms and indeed everyone affected and touched by the tragedy, to raise (even more) awareness, and to use the event as a charity springboard to help said victims and their families.

In total, it raised £2 million on the night for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund in just a few short hours, with somewhere in the region of £10 million collected overall.
