Last night saw some of the biggest names in music take to the red carpet for the 2020 Grammys, including Ariana Grande, who turned heads in an enormous grey gown by Giambattista Valli, which took up plenty of space when she sat down to watch the awards.

The dress featured layers and layers of tulle, which is something of a signature for Valli, and made for a dramatic entrance, something which Grande played up to, swishing around the red carpet and even sitting down to exaggerate the shape of the dress.

She also added a pair of grey opera gloves, dressing the ensemble up even more. The accessory has been making a comeback this awards season with Zoë Kravitz also choosing them for the SAG Awards last week.

This is not Valli's first tulle moment at the Grammys. In 2015, Rihanna showed up to the awards ceremony wearing a bright pink tulle dress by the designer, which, while not quite as voluminous as Grande's, certainly still made headlines for its dramatic finish, becoming one of the singer's most memorable looks to date.

When inside, Grande changed her outfit a number of times, wearing another grey gown, a dark-green dress and a pink ensemble to perform in.
