Armed cops lockdown Scots street as man arrested after 'disturbance'

Armed cops locked down a Scots street last night after a 'disturbance'.

Several units including riot officers and firearm carrying police swooped on Letham Terrace in Leven in connection with a warrant.

Police say that a 'disturbance' unfolded in the Fife town around 7.30pm which which led to the response with several ambulances and police cars were also spotted at the scene.

A 25-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court today (Wednesday, June 5.)

Stunned locals captured pictures of the incident. The street was taped off for several hours.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.30pm on Tuesday, 4 June, 2024, officers attended an address on Letham Terrace, Leven in connection with a warrant.

"A subsequent disturbance occurred and a 25-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection. He is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 5 June, 2024.”

Elsewhere in Fife, armed units were called to Kirkcaldy to reports of a male youth with a firearm.

Police descended on the School Brae area of the town on Tuesday afternoon.

A BB gun was seized and a 15-year-old male youth was charged in connection with the incident.
