Armed cops swarm Glasgow Hillington high rise in ongoing incident

Armed police have swarmed a high rise flat block in the south of the city amid an ongoing incident this afternoon, Sunday September 29.

Emergency services are currently dealing with an incident at Hartlaw Crescent in Hillington.

Images from the scene show armed officers on the top floor of the flat block.

An eyewitness described to Glasgow Live a 'major' police response with specialist units at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.05pm on Sunday, 29 September, 2024, officers attended a report of a disturbance on Hartlaw Crescent, Glasgow.

“A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing. There is no wider risk to the public.”
