Armed police called after man shot in leg near Skegness

A man has been taken to hospital after being shot in the leg with a pellet shotgun near Skegness. Armed police were sent to Thorpe Bank in Little Steeping, Lincolnshire at around 1.15am on Saturday, May 25 following reports of a man in his 30s being shot.

It is thought that he was fired at with a shotgun, causing pellets to become embedded in his leg. Lincolnshire Police said the injuries are not thought to be serious and the man was taken to hospital.

The force said it was searching for three men in connection with the incident and appealed for information from the public. A police cordon remains in place at and around a house on the street.

"The public can expect to see a lot of activity in the Little Steeping and Spilsby areas at the moment," police said. "We are appealing for help from the public and are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything that could help with the investigation."
