Armed police drive in convoy to several locations in Middlesbrough

Armed police have been spotted in several locations in Middlesbrough.

Six armed police officers and three Cleveland Police vehicles have been seen in the town's Crescent Road, Tavistock Street and Berner Street on Sunday afternoon. Teesside Live was first informed that the armed convoy had stopped in Crescent Road around 3pm.

The officers then moved on from there to nearby Tavistock Street and then Berner Street. One witness said: "They were driving around really slowly all geared up. There must be something going on."

Teesside Live has contacted Cleveland Police for further details.
